" In the early 1990s I began to quilt. My mother was a traditional quilter and insisted that I attend the Houston Quilt Show about 1994. My life was changed. After teaching art in junior and senior High Schools for 30 years, I returned to my first love, fabrics, and tried Art Quilting shortly before retiring in 2000. Since then I have been doing mostly Landscape Art Quilts as well as one of a kind family quilts and some expressive work. Banners and quilted wall hangings for my church are also a rewarding challenge for me. I like to show depth in whatever work I do. Hand embroidery for foreground details and using other materials for enhancements add textures and complement my work. Dyeing my own sky and mountain fabrics is half the fun of the whole creative process for me. I enjoy teaching ladies who share my love of fabrics and color."
