"Since the age of twelve, I have loved designing and
creating with fabric. When I learned to make my first quilt
block in 1983, I knew I was hooked. Although I still enjoy
making traditional quilts, my focus now is on art quilts.
Many of my recent quilts were created as a result of experimenting
with new techniques in quiltmaking. I enjoy dyeing my own fabric
and using embellishments on my quilts such as beads and yarns.
My favorite part of the creative process is choosing the colors.
Since I live in a beautiful valley, I am constantly inspired
by the changing colors and textures around me.
My computer and digital camera play a big part in my design process. Currently I am working on a series of portrait quilts which tend toward realism more than the abstract."
